Rally Report

Valentines Rally at Great Limber 14 - 16 February 2020

Despite the threat of “Dennis the Menace-ing” storm threatening to join our rally over the weekend, Mick and Sue welcomed 17 motorcaravans (and their owners!) arrived to Great Limber, to celebrate St Valentine’s Day – even though the main event was planned for Saturday night! On Friday we participated in some of our usual activities – including a “Name the Celebratory Pairs” quiz. We pottered about the village on Saturday, a few heading to the pub for lunch, whilst others set off on the bus to explore further afield. A few that decided to stay on site gathered in the hall during the afternoon.

By the evening the hall had been transformed into a venue geared for romance, dressed in red and black. Many thanks to Dot for her table decorations, and to Anne and Bernadette for helping with the preparations. Our lovely couples joined in the festivities by donning their best red and black outfits. The ladies were gifted with a red rose as they arrived – and yes, we have taken note of how many gentlemen asked where their rose was!! After a Valentine’s quiz. We launched into a game of “Mrs & Mrs” with everyone taking part in the first few rounds. Then 4 couples competed in the semi-finals, and after a close-run final between Bill & Dot and Dave & Carol, the latter were awarded the “Mr & Mrs” grand prize! Thank you everyone for taking part and joining in the fun. The Valentine raffle was drawn during the evening, leaving Sunday morning free for members to leave at the best time to avoid the remaining wind and rain sent curtesy of “Dennis”!
